The story of love is not important -- what is important is that one is capable of love. It is perhaps the only glimpse we are permitted of eternity. ~Helen Hayes

The evening began with a gathering of friends. We were on Maui time, so, no worries, yeah?
We had planned on starting the evening at 6:30pm, asking friends to arrive around 6pm. We started divinely just before sunset (a bit after 7pm). Then, we lost track of time...
Our beloved Holly Sanchez, also my Kumu Hula of the O' Lokahi Hula Hui, blessed the maile and pikake leis that Jack and Denni Grace graciously gifted.
She reminded us about the sacredness of meeting on Hawaiian `aina (land). In anchoring the love, Holly set the tone for the rest of the evening. What a gift! Her words reminded us that this `aina is the beginning of our family, o'hana, and from here, our love will blossom.
We all gathered by the pool, facing the ocean and the magnificent sunset. Gracefully, Holly chanted a Hawaiian blessing - an invocation for the presence of our ancestors and to join us on this day.
The vibrational energy of the evening was set and we moved inside the lounge for a prayer from Kent Sjolander. Kent read an excerpt from Maryann Williamson's prayer. We bowed our heads and the presence of God filled our hearts while tears filled our eyes.
Our dear friend, Joel Tessieri read an introduction for the Hula that Wendy and Prentise Wylie performed. Evelyn had asked Wendy and Prentise to dance, in honor of her late mother and grandmother. It is such a precious gift to see mother and daughter dance away to "Love and Honesty."
Cliff then shared about family, the poem he read when he proposed and the way he actually proposed. Evelyn gave a reading on Soul Mates and Twin Flames.
We made our announcement, toasted and closed the short program with sharing, food and drinks.
